Tattoo Removal Q & A

How does laser tattoo removal work?

Safe and effective laser tattoo removal requires a certified professional who understands the technologies they’re using. Otherwise, you could end up with severe scarring and a tattoo that remains visible.

At Florida Cosmetic Center, Dr. Pasha is board certified, affiliated with the American College of Physicians, and has received multiple certifications from the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. His vast experience provides comfort and confidence in his patients who return, time and time again, for laser treatments.

To give you the best results possible, Dr. Pasha uses the CuteraⓇ Enlighten™ three laser system, which combines the optimal wavelengths, pulses, and energy levels to bring you the most effective outcome.

Dr. Pasha directs the laser energy from the device at the pigment in your tattoo. The laser light breaks up this pigment, fragmenting it into tiny pieces, which your body naturally carries away for elimination.

What happens during laser tattoo removal?

During your initial consultation at Florida Cosmetic Center, Dr. Pasha examines your tattoo and develops a treatment plan.

At your first treatment, a staff member takes you to a comfortable room where the tattoo removal takes place. The doctor gives you a pair of protective eye shields that you must wear throughout the entire procedure.

Dr. Pasha tests the laser on your skin to find the most effective setting, then uses the laser to administer the pulses of energy into the pigment of your tattoo. This only impacts the top layer of skin, protecting your surrounding tissue to eliminate irritation and scarring.

Once the session is over, you can leave the office. Dr. Pasha recommends wearing sunscreen over the treated area afterward, however.

How long does it take to remove a tattoo?

Many issues determine the length of time it takes to remove a tattoo, including its:

  • Colors
  • Size
  • Age
  • Location
  • Depth

Most tattoos require more than one laser tattoo removal treatment and Dr. Pasha may suggest anywhere from two to 10 sessions. After each treatment, your tattoo becomes lighter and less noticeable, and your skin should heal completely between sessions.

If you have an embarrassing tattoo, you can finally forget that mistake with the help of the professionals at Florida Cosmetic Center. Book your initial consultation online today or call the office to schedule.
